The Cherry Cricket

One of Denver’s best hamburger joints must be mentioned. Located in the lavish Cherry Creek area is a neighborhood bar and restaurant called The Cherry Cricket (or just ‘The Cricket’ as locals call it). This place has undergone an interesting transition over the last few years. It was originally known as the place to be in Cherry Creek by 20 and 30-somethings, but now has expanded to welcome tourists staying the newly built luxury hotels. They’ve added a patio and an additional room, however none of the famous bartenders are still there.

The restaurant is locally famous for it’s “Cricket Burger”. You can choose a little or regular burger depending on how hungry you are and I recommend getting an order of Frings (fries and onion rings). The food is always good and the atmosphere is friendly and lively. There are a couple pool tables, a jukebox, and several TVs. There are numerous beers and booze at the bar. Families are welcome but expect it to be rather noisy and busy even during the day. Thursdays are often frequented by University of Denver students with Friday and Saturday nights as hit or miss crowds. If you’re looking for singles action try Thursday or Friday after 8PM.

The Cricket is rumored to be owned by the Denver mayor, John Hickenlooper (I was verify or deny this cause I really don’t know) and is a great place to sample Denver’s Cherry Creek neighborhood without spending Beverly Hills level prices. A burger, basket of fries, and a cold beer will cost around $16.

Colorado is amazing

After living here for the past 10 years and seeing this amazing city grow - it seemed time to write the quintessential guide to Denver. The stats are revealing, more than 60% of the people living in the Denver metro area are transplants from other place. Denver has become a great mecca for those seeking adventure. It’s no surprise given that Denver is booming in population and culture.

Colorado’s Rich History

Colorado has a great history of changing lives. From the early days, Colorado was a large mining state — which attracted all sorts of people. It has been a stronghold for the railroad industry and thus a large connection point for fiber optics. The downtown area continues to grow by leaps and bounds. It attracts big business into the entire metropolitan area.

Denver Weather

Denver’s suburbs are a great place to invest in a home and raise a family. New construction is abound all along the Interstate 25 corridor and one can find a vast selection of apartments, condos, and residential neighborhoods.

The weather here is unbelieveable. Nearly every morning the sky is clear and bright blue. The amount of sunny days here rivals that of San Diego. The humidity is low, so no more extremely cold winters and blazingly hot summers. When the snow falls in the city, it’s beautiful. And since Colorado is such a sunny state, it often melts away the next day which brings us to our next point…

Rocky Mountain Snow

Even when it snows a little in Denver, the mountains get a ton of snow. People come from all over the world to ski and snowboard (”ride” as we call it here) in a ton of top-notch and affordable ski resorts that pepper the mountains all the way to Utah. Of course in the summer, the resorts are a great place to visit a festival or go shopping or go downhill biking or relax at a spa or…the list goes on and on.

The Outdoors

Colorado also has natural springs and miles of trail (biking, motorcycling, hiking, trailrunning, four-wheeling). Lets not forget all the protected open space for camping. There’s also gold-medal waters for fly fishing.

The Style

Then the nightlife. And the fashion. And the music. It goes on and on.

This website is here to shared ideas for living the refined Denver lifestyle.
