As the Australian hit group Cut Copy finishes up it’s North American leg of their fall tour, it pops into Denver tomorrow, October 4th, to play at the Ogden Theatre. The electronic band from down under has been on the scene since 2001 but has really become popular in the U.S. after the release of “In Ghost Colours” in 2008. In 2008, “Lights and Music” was used in the video game FIFA ’09. “Far Away” was played on the TV series Nip/Tuck, on one of its final episodes, in a club scene.
What started out as a solo project by lead man Dan Whitford now has the four member group headlining music festivals and doing world tours. This time around they are showcasing their latest release, “Zonoscope”, which introduces a little more pop into their repertoire. The music they produce is a really great mix of dance and indie rock fused together. Cut Copy will be finishing up their North American tour on the west coast going from Vancouver all the way down through California before heading to South America.
