Urban gardens are popping up all over town and they are helping to support the purchase of local produce and supporting local farmers. Starting Wednesday September 14 Feed Denver will have an open air farmers market on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
Feed Denver is a non-profit education and development organization created to empower local-level economic independence through sustainable small-scale farms and markets in urban settings. Started in 2008, Feed Denver has received enormous praise throughout the community. The organization also has education courses to help you learn about growing your own sustainable gardens.
The Sunnyside market (Wednesdays) will be held on 44th & Vallejo, while the Swansea market (Thursdays) will be in a parking lot at 42nd & Steele, both days run 5:30 – 7:30pm. Get out there and support local growers while making your momma proud by eating all your vegetables.
