Fun: Bike Prom
The second annual event combines two Denver obsessions: wearing costumes and riding bikes. This year’s theme, Jocks vs. Nerds, allows guests to reclaim — or refute — their high-school identity as the prom gets rolling. Along the way, there will be music, drinks, dancing and, of course, prom photos. Local photographer George Ferris will bring back his FUNlapse Photobooth from last year, and if you graduated from high school before the Facebook era, here’s your chance to finally be tagged in innumerable photos wearing a corsage.

Art: Mindpool 2012 @ NEXT Gallery
While Veronica Reeves recognizes that there’s a place for calculated, meticulously planned art, that place isn’t NEXT Gallery. Not right now. Reeves has organized an entire show, Mindpool 2012, dedicated to creative work that comes from intuition and chance, and celebrating risk over regulation. “At first I was a little worried that all I would get would be a huge batch of abstract-expressionist work,” says Reeves. “But I was really pleased, because we got a huge variety of all kinds of different work.”
